How to sell a PDF e-book with Membree
Publish your PDF, configure an offer and checkout, and deliver the e-book through the private library of authorized readers.
Choose E-book in Products → New product, upload the primary PDF, and configure reader delivery. Then publish the e-book. To accept sales, connect a payment account, prepare an offer, and share its checkout. Access is delivered through the reader’s library after payment confirmation.

Prepare the PDF and delivery settings
Have a final version of the primary PDF, a cover, and a description explaining its content. Put any bonus materials in separate PDF files so readers can identify what they received.
Select the organization and review Plan and billing for publishing conditions. Separately connect the provider that will receive your sales payments.
Decide whether readers can download the file as well as use the PDF reader. Also set the access duration and determine which details you actually need to collect at checkout, especially if you want to personalize PDFs with buyer information.
Create the product and publish the primary file
- Open Products → New product and choose E-book. Enter the title, description, and cover to identify the material in your storefront and checkout.
- In E-book materials, select Primary e-book and Upload PDF. The product needs a primary PDF before it can be published.
- For supporting material, select Bonus file and upload the corresponding PDFs. Use names that explain each file’s purpose.
- In Reader delivery, review Author, Allow downloads, and Personalize delivered PDFs. Choose watermarks and other controls appropriate for the material.
- Configure Checkout fields and Access duration. In Base offer or Offers and coupons, prepare the one-time price for the sale.
- Save the settings and select Publish e-book. Open Offers and coupons, use Copy link, and share the checkout for the offer you want.
Check access as a reader
Grant access to an account used for checking and open its library. Check the primary PDF, bonuses, browser reading, and download option.
If you enabled personalization, check the copy delivered to the reader and the details used in its watermark. Processing that copy can take time; wait for preparation to finish before evaluating the result.
To validate payment and delivery together, use a test or sandbox environment supported by the provider, with the corresponding configuration. Production credentials can create a real charge. After confirmation, check that the paid order grants the product to the email used.
Understand PDF protection controls
Source files remain private. Delivery can generate a copy for each access with a name, email, and CPF or CNPJ when available. Password protection uses the document or an alternative derived from the email.
Restrict copying and Restrict printing depend on compatible PDF readers. These controls do not guarantee that someone who receives the content can never copy, photograph, or share it.
Removing access does not recover files already downloaded. Manual grants and purchases provide separate access: revoking a grant does not remove a separate purchase.
You can publish without an offer if the primary PDF is present and publishing is available under your plan. Configure an offer when you want to accept sales through checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sell an e-book without allowing downloads?
You can disable Allow downloads and provide reading through the library. This controls the download action offered by Membree without guaranteeing absolute protection against copying.
Does an e-book need a price before it can be published?
No. The primary PDF is required, but an offer is optional. You can publish for readers with manual access and configure sales later.
Can I deliver bonuses with the e-book?
Yes. Upload the e-book as the primary file and use Bonus file for additional PDFs. Check the materials with an account that has product access.
