How to issue a course certificate with Membree
Enable completion certificates, customize the template, and check the student’s public verification page.
Open the course and enter Certification. Enable Completion certificate, customize the template, and save. Students become eligible after completing every lesson in the course. The team can also manually issue a certificate for an eligible student. Each issued certificate has a public verification and printing page.

Review the course and completion rule
Certification belongs to the course. Choose the correct product in the organization and check titles, lessons, and instructors before preparing the template. These details help identify what was completed.
Eligibility checks enrollment and completion of every lesson. A course without lessons is not completed simply because it is empty. Plan the content around what you actually expect students to study.
Write the certificate text to match the course offered. The verification page records completion in Membree; the document itself does not establish accreditation or recognition by an external institution.
Enable and customize the certificate
Configure it in the course editor and use the preview to review the elements students will receive.
- Open Products, select the course, and enter Certification. Enable Completion certificate to allow issuance once a student becomes eligible.
- Customize the template using the available fields. Review the title, introductory text, completion message, appearance, and inclusion of instructors and verification.
- Save changes and check the template again. Make sure the names and text correctly identify the course and the organization offering it.
- Ask an authorized account to start the course and complete its lessons. Progress records determine when that account becomes eligible.
- When the team needs to issue one, select Issue a certificate manually, choose an eligible student, and use Create certificate.
- Open the issued certificate’s page and check its details. Share the verification address when the student needs to demonstrate course completion.
Check eligibility and public verification
In Students, check the progress of the account used for review. If any lesson is incomplete, the student is not yet eligible even if the team enabled certification.
Open the certificate with the student and review the name, course title, issuer, and date. The public page lets people view and print the document. Use the full address when sharing verification.
A new request returns the certificate already issued for that student and course. Review course details before first issuance because the certificate records information at the time it is created.
Understand when issuance is allowed
Manual issuance creates the document for a student who already meets the rule. It is not a shortcut for certifying someone without enrollment or with incomplete lessons.
Enabling certification after a student completes the course allows them to request the document if they meet eligibility requirements. Check the setting before advising that student.
The rule described here uses lesson completion. Do not present the certificate as proof of a minimum grade, supervised examination, or official recognition without a specific process supporting that statement.
Frequently asked questions
Can I issue one manually before a student finishes?
Manual issuance also requires eligibility. The student must be enrolled, complete all lessons, and have certification enabled in the course.
Can someone else verify the certificate?
Yes. Each issued certificate has a public verification and printing page. Share that address to allow others to check it.
Does a student get another certificate when requesting it again?
No. A new request returns the existing certificate for that person and course, avoiding duplicate issuance.
